Anybody who can help? does anybody know anything about a private from 2 para, I think "D"coy, called John Banks? Last time I came across him he claimed he was at Plaman Mapu, but I didn't think "D"coy. was there, they were elsewhere at the time. He also claimed Radafan, Cyprus, Malaya and N.Ireland but the story I got elsewhere was that he was kicked out of the Army, DD'd. They say the good old fashioned brown stuff baffles brains, this sounds like one of those cases, I would certainly be grateful if someone can shed light on this story. Tight lines. Pete

Dragonmaster are you by chance refering to a John Banks (ex MT section 2 Para) who once lived College Town / Sandhurst way and was the one recruiting mercs for Angola in the mid '70's? If so what is your connection and why are you asking????

Hi D'master. If it's the same John Banks then all you have to do is to Google......John Banks Angola......and it will bring up some of the stuff that is in the public domain. It gives you some sense of what a shitehole he was......not that I'm biased in any way!

You certainly got it right DRAGONMASTER, BANKS was the ultimate little SHIT. He should have been strung up by his balls but unfortunately he didn't have any. A proper little con artist.
