After numerous requests from members for a secure chat room I've started to put one in place. This would of course allow members to discuss topics that would not normally be placed on the open forums. At the moment it's still very much at the experimental stage and I need to explore this new board further before it's in place. At this time the only option I see for entry is by giving out a password, but I see that as unsuitable. That scenario would allow anyone to forward that password to others who have not been authenticated, therefore defeating the objective.
The criteria for entry would be, that the person would have to be a registered member of the 2 Para Reunion Club, and not just a registered member of the message board. There are many people registered on the board who are not members of the reunion club, which is fine, as that allows friends or family to try and find old acquaintances. Also many members register on message board using only non de plumes or pen names, for example "Donald Duck" I like anyone else have no idea who that might be.
When eventually set up, anyone applying for entry to the secure Members Only room would have to send me their full name along with the name they use on the message board. I would then check to confirm they are in fact registered members of the reunion club, once authenticated they would then be granted access to that room. However as stated earlier I have not yet found how to actually do this ,,,,,,,,, Hopefully in the next few days I will!!
