A simillar thing happened back in June 1967 in Aden when the local police
or Army mutinied. The old newspaper cutting I have mentions 24 victims
of the Crater violence.Nine of these were from the Northumberland Fusiliers
laid to rest in Silent Valley. At the time the biggest single burial service since
the Korian war.

Yeah I remember that George. We had come down from Radfan in the Feb, did some shopping and then flew back to Bahrain before flying back home. 1 Para then came out to Aden to cover the withdrawal from Aden (in Nov?).
I know that this is a bit long but, hey, you don't have to read all of it! :)

The link took me into the Aden veteran`s site and a whole load of stuff as well as the tragedy of the northumberland fusiliers ambush by Aden police, but as happy jack said in an earlier post "never trust an Arab or a second hand car dealer" and its oh so true.
